Ballot Crew

Messaging Terms

Ballot Crew sends text messages to poll workers about shifts, assignments, and pay. These are operational messages about work you have applied for or been assigned — never marketing.

Effective 2026-09-11

Who sends these messages

Ballot Crew is a poll-worker management service operated by AccuPay, Inc. Messages are sent on behalf of the county or city election office that appointed you. The office decides who is contacted and when; AccuPay, Inc. operates the service that delivers the message.

What we send

Messages about shifts, assignments, and pay — an offer of a shift, a reminder of one you accepted, a change of polling place or time, a request to confirm you are coming, and notices about pay for work you have completed.

We do not send marketing, promotional offers or advertising through this programme. Election-worker messaging is operational: it exists so that a polling place opens on time and the people working it know where to be.

How often

Message frequency varies. Message volume follows the election calendar rather than a schedule: in the weeks around an election you may receive several messages, and between elections you may receive none for months.

Cost

Msg & data rates may apply. Ballot Crew does not charge you for messages. Any charge comes from your own mobile carrier under your own plan.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. You will get one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and then nothing further.

Stopping texts does not withdraw your application and does not cancel a shift you have accepted — but it does mean your election office can no longer reach you this way, so tell them how they should contact you instead. Reply START to begin receiving messages again.

How to get help

Reply HELP to any message for help. You can also reach us at support@ballotcrew.com or (949) 202-0078.

Consent

Consent is not a condition of applying. You choose whether to receive text messages when you apply, and you can change your mind at any time by replying STOP. Your application is considered on its merits either way.

Consent is recorded with the exact wording you agreed to and the time you agreed to it. If that wording later changes, your record keeps the wording you actually saw — we do not rewrite it.

Your mobile information

No mobile information, opt-in data, or consent to receive text messages will be shared with, sold to, or otherwise provided to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Your telephone number is used to deliver these messages and for nothing else. It is passed to our messaging carrier solely to deliver them. See the Privacy Policy for how the rest of your information is handled.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and on your handset, and neither is under our control — which is why your election office will always have another way to reach you.
