Ballot Crew

Terms of Use

These terms cover using the Ballot Crew application form and worker portal. Text messaging has its own separate terms.

Effective 2026-09-11

What this covers

These terms apply to you as an applicant or poll worker using Ballot Crew. If you are an election office, your use is governed by the agreement your office signed with AccuPay, Inc., and that agreement prevails over this page wherever the two differ.

Text messaging is covered separately by the Messaging Terms.

What Ballot Crew is, and is not

Ballot Crew is software an election office uses to recruit, schedule, contact and pay the people who staff its polling places. AccuPay, Inc. does not appoint poll workers, does not decide who is eligible, and does not set pay. Those decisions belong to your election office. Applying through this service is not an offer of work and does not guarantee an appointment.

Ballot Crew handles no voter registration data and no ballots.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell your election office promptly if you believe someone else has used your account. Where the service offers a second authentication factor, it is there because the records behind it include other people’s personal information as well as your own.

Accurate information

Give accurate information when you apply and keep it current. An election office relies on it to establish eligibility and to reach you on election day, and inaccurate information may cost you an assignment — or cost a polling place the staff it was counting on.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to reach records that are not yours, disrupt the service, or use it to send anything unlawful. Election infrastructure is a sensitive environment and we treat interference with it seriously.

Availability

We work to keep the service available, particularly around an election, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. Election offices are given printed fallback materials precisely because a polling place can lose its internet connection, and paper does not.

Accessibility

The public application form, the worker portal and the administrator interface are built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. If any part of the service is difficult for you to use, tell us at support@ballotcrew.com and we will help and fix it.

Changes

If these terms change, the effective date above changes with them. Where a change affects how we contact you or what we do with your information, we will say so rather than rely on you noticing.
